Just watch this video: https://lnkd.in/gbxmR4rA
It's worrying that some tech companies pretend their demos are real when they're not. Even though a senior engineer showed that Devin's demo was fake, they still got $20 million from Peter Thiel (https://lnkd.in/g4CCD7Gj). This makes it seem like lying is okay in the tech world. But it's not. We need to value real innovation and make sure companies are honest about what they can do.
Just few months ago google faked their Gemini demo.
It's like when companies in the dot-com bubble added "dot-com" to their names to get more money from investors. Many of those companies ended up failing, and only a few made it through. Now, it seems like companies are doing the same thing with "AI" in their names to get attention and funding. Some might do well, but a lot will probably fail, just like before. This could let down a lot of people who believed in them.
As the saying goes — Those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it. It might sound negative, but it's important to be cautious about what we see online (especially when it comes to demos).
